Refit the support (1)
.
Tighten the bolts (2) to 3,9 daN.m
.

the timing covers (3), (4)

Fit
:
-
the sensor (5) fitted with a new seal
-
the sensor (6) fitted with a new seal : tightening torque 3,5 da.Nm
-
the drain screw (7) fitted with a new seal : tightening torque 3 da.Nm
-
a new oil filter (8)
-
the dipstick guide (9) fitted with a new seal
-
the fastener (10) : tightening torque 0,8 da.Nm
-
the dipstick (11)
Check that the pins (12) are present
.
Refit the starter fitted with its heat shield : Tightening torque 3,9 da.Nm
.

Refit the exhaust manifolds fitted with new seals
.
IMPERATIVE :
always renew : the nuts
.
Tighten the nuts in the sequence shown
.
Pre-tighten : 1 da.Nm
.
Tightening torque: 3 da.Nm
.
Check the tightening : 3 da.Nm
.

the heat shields (13), (14)

the intermediate manifold (15)
Always renew

the exhaust fasteners (16)

Always renew
:
-
the seals (17) (coolant outlet manifold)
-
the seal (18) (coolant outlet manifold)
-
the seal (19) (coolant inlet manifold)

the thermostat (20)
Fit
:
-
the coolant manifold seals (17), (18), (19)
-
the thermostat (20)
-
the coolant inlet and outlet manifold assembly (21)
-
the bolts (22), (23), (24)
Tighten
:
-
the bolts (22) to 2,5 da.Nm
-
the bolts (23) to 0,8 da.Nm
-
the bolt (24) to 0,8 da.Nm
Refit the sensors (25), (26) : Tightening torque 1,75 da.Nm
.

NOTE :
the breather unit is fitted with a composite seal which can be removed several times; IF THE GASKET IS DAMAGED, IT CAN BE PARTIALLY REPAIRED WITH JOINTING PASTE

the breather assembly (27)

knock sensor (28)

the coolant pipe (29) fitted with a new seal
-
the lifting plates (tightening torque 1,5 da.Nm)
-
the cylinder block rear drain screw or the plug fitted with a new seal (tightening torque 3 da.Nm)
Tighten the breather assembly (27) (In the order shown)

-
pre-tighten to 0,5 da.Nm
-
tightening torque 1 da.Nm

IMPERATIVE :
always replace the inlet manifold seals (30)
.
Fit
:
-
the inlet manifold seals (30)
-
the additional engine harness assembly (31), inlet manifold and injection rails

IMPERATIVE :
when an operation is carried out on the cylinder head, or the lower manifold, modify the manifold mountings to change to M6 diameter (see Service Info. No. 376)
.
Refit the plugs
.
Tighten to the required torque using a FACOM D.21 or D.150-3 type spanner
.
Fit
:
-
the compact coil block assembly
-
the engine harness assembly and its bracket
-
the secondary coil assembly

Refit the intake manifold, fitted with a new gasket
.
Position
:
-
the inlet manifold connector and throttle housing assembly
-
the 7 bolts finger tight until they touch
Finger tighten then progressively tighten the securing bolts in the order shown (1 to 7)
.
Pre-tighten : 1 da.Nm
.
Tightening torque: 2 da.Nm
.
Check the tightening : 2 da.Nm
.

Fit
:
-
the vacuum capsule assembly (32) with its bracket and the pin
-
the harness/channel assembly (33)
-
the lifting plates (34) : tightening torque 1,5 da.Nm

Fit
:
-
the style cover (35)
-
the roller/tensioner assembly (36)
-
the bracket (37) : tightening torque 3,9 da.Nm
-
the bracket (38) : tightening torque 4,5 da.Nm
Tighten the bolt (39) to 6 da.Nm
.
Remove the support [1]
.
Fit
:
-
the alternator bracket and its pins
-
the alternator (40)
Firstly tighten the bolts on the crankshaft pulley side to 3,9 da.Nm then the bolts on the oil filter side to 3,9 da.Nm
.
Slacken the bolts (Oil filter side)
.
Tighten the bolts (Oil filter side) : 3,9 da.Nm
.
