1 - 8 VALVE CYLINDER HEAD

Reference 1 : Clutch end .

The camshafts are marked with paint rings .

2 - 16 VALVE CYLINDER HEAD

Reference 12 = Clutch end .

The camshafts are marked in 2 ways :

• paint rings
• drilled holes at the end of the camshaft, (timing gear end)

There are 2 types of drilled holes positioned in relation to groove (E) :

• shallow drilled hole = 5 mm
• deep drilled hole = 10 mm

NOTE : there are 2 types of inlet camshafts, with or without vacuum pump drive, which have the same marks .

3 - CAMSHAFTS WITH JOURNALS 0.5 MM LARGER

The camshafts are marked in 2 ways :

• engraving of the letter R at (F) - (clutch end)
• paint ring(s) : yellow at (F) - (clutch end)

4 - CAMSHAFT SPROCKET HUB MARKING

4 - 1 - CAMSHAFT SIDE

Identification of the camshaft hubs is possible because of a stamp (G) consisting of one digit .

The hubs can be identified by the position of the stampings .
