2 - VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT
Fit the tool [1] .
Turn the camshaft using tool [1] .
Operating clearance in mm :

| 4 | 2 | 1 |
| 2 | 1 | 3 |
Place the cam on the cam back and measure the clearance (J) .
Note the value of the clearance measured for each valve : A1-E1; E2-A2; A3-E3; E4-A4 .
If the clearances (J) noted are incorrect, remove :
Measure the thickness (E) of the adjustment shims (3) .
Determine the thickness of adjustment shims (3) to be fitted by referring to the example (column A or B) .

Fit the adjustment shims (3) thus determined then the tappets (1) .
WARNING : observe the direction of fitting of the adjustment washers .
NOTE : zone (a) can be identified by its brightness .
Fit :
IMPERATIVE : for the various tightening torques .
Bearings 2 and 4 are numbered .
Refit the lubrication rails (4) .
Apply a drop of AUTO JOINT OR compound to the four corners (b) of the camshaft bearings .
Fit the cylinder head cover (5) .
Refit the various components in the reverse order to removal .
