MODIFICATION OIL FILTER GAUZE

From engine number 63941 : The engine ES9J4/L3 is given a new oil suction filter .

1 - EARLIER ASSEMBLY

Composition :

• oil filter gauze (1) (in aluminium)
• O-ring (2)
• dipstick tube (3)
• sump with partitions (4)

2 - LATER ASSEMBLY

Composition :

• oil filter gauze (5) (as a machine-welded steel panel)
• O-ring (2)
• 2 M6 x 100 bolts - threaded length 20 mm (6a)
• 2 M6 x 100 bolts - threaded length 16 mm (6b)
• tightening torque of bolts (6a) - (6b) : 0.8 da.Nm
• dipstick tube (7)
• sump without partition (8)
• new machining on crankshaft main bearing cap housing

3 - INTERCHANGEABILITY

The filter assembly (5) , joined to the gauge pipe (7) and the seal (2) is interchangeable, In the following conditions :

• fit the adaptor socket (10) into the machined part of the old crankshaft cap casing B and the securing bolts (6a) - (6b)

The new sump (8) may be fitted only with the new gauze .

The old sump (4) may be fitted with both assemblies .

NOTE : only the new engine block will be marketed. it will therefore be necessary to replace the filter and the gauge pipe .
