DRAINING - FILLING - BLEEDING COOLING SYSTEM

1 - TOOLS REQUIRED

[1] filling cylinder (-).0173 .

2 - DRAINING

Remove the cap from the expansion tank .

Remove the shield under the power train .

Fit a pipe to the outlet to allow clean drainage of the system .

Unscrew the radiator drain plug (1) .

Open the bleed screw (2) .

Open the bleed screw (3) .

Open the bleed screws (4) .

Remove the air inlet manifold (5) .

Fit a pipe to the outlet to allow clean drainage of the system .

Open the bleed screw (6) on the engine block .

Fit a pipe to the outlet to allow clean drainage of the system .

Open the bleed screw (7) on the engine block .

Allow the coolant to run out .

Close the drain screws (1) - (6) - (7) .

Tighten :

3 - REFILLING - BLEEDING

Before any re-filling operation, flush the cooling circuit with clean water .

WARNING : check the sealing of the circuit .

Fit the filling cylinder [1] to the filler opening .

Open all the bleed screws as well as the bleed screw on the radiator (quarter turn) (according to model) .

Fill the circuit slowly with coolant .

Close the bleed screws in the order in which the liquid flows without bubbles .

The filling cylinder must be filled to the 1 litre mark to bleed the heater matrix correctly .

Start the engine .

Maintain a speed between 1500 and 2000 rpm until the end of the second cooling cycle (the cooling fan(s) cutting in then stopping) while keeping the filling cylinder full to the 1 litre mark .

Stop the engine immediately after the second cooling cycle .

Remove the filling cylinder [1] .

Immediately refit the cap and tighten it to the second notch .
