REMOVAL - REFITTING FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT

1 - TOOLS REQUIRED


[1] Gauge securing ring removal-refitting spanner (-).1601 .

2 - REMOVAL

4 DOOR SALOON

remove the rear seat .


Remove the protector (1) .


Disconnect :


Remove the ring (5) using the tool [1] .

Remove the gauge (6) taking care not to damage or deform the float arm (7) .

4 DOOR SALOON DW10 ENGINE


Drill out the rivets (1) using a 5 mm drill bit .

WARNING : drill the hole(s) limiting penetration of the drill bit to 10 mm by means of a depth gauge .

Remove :


Remove the protector (3) .

Disconnect :


Remove the ring (7) using the tool [1] .

Remove the gauge taking care not to damage or deform the float arm (9) .

ALL MODELS

3 - REFITTING

IMPERATIVE : always replace the seal (8) .

COUPE ESTATE

When fitting the gauge/pump assembly in the tank, take care not to damage the following components :

NOTE : always replace the seal (8) when removing the bush (5) .


Place the gauge/pump assembly in position in the tank by aligning the arrow (A) with the mark (B) .

Refit the ring (5) and tighten using the tool [1] until the mark (C) is aligned with the arrow (A) and the mark (B) .


Reconnect :


Refit the protector (1) (Notch (D) : Towards the front of the vehicle) .

4 DOOR SALOON


Position the gauge in the tank aligning the pin (a) with the notch (b) .


Refit the gauge securing ring (5) ensuring that the 6 studs (6) are engaged in the ring (c) .

Reconnect :

Fit :

DW10 ENGINE

When fitting the gauge/pump assembly in the tank, take care not to damage the following components :


Place the gauge/pump assembly in position in the tank by aligning the arrow (A) with the mark (B) .

Refit the ring (7) and tighten using the tool [1] until the mark (C) is aligned with the arrow (A) and the mark (B) .


Reconnect :

Refit the protector (3) .

Secure the panel (2) using rivets .
