DISMANTLING/ASSEMBLY DIFFERENTIAL BOX

1 - PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS

Stripping the gearbox .

Removal : Differential box .

2 - DISMANTLING

Remove the bearings using the tool [1] - [15] .

Remove :

• the stop pin (1) of the planet gear holder shaft (2)
• the differential pinion shaft (2)
• the planet gears (3) and their cup washers (4) by pivoting them
• the sun wheels (5)
• the sun gear centraliser (6) opposite the crown wheel

IMPERATIVE : do not separate the planet wheels from from their cup washers or the sun wheels from their friction washers .

Remove the crown wheel (7) .

3 - REASSEMBLING

refit the bearings using the tool [14] .

Fit :

• the planet gear pin (2)
• the planet gears (3) and their cup washers (3) by pivoting them
• the sun wheels (5)
• the sun gear centraliser (6) opposite the crown wheel
• the new shaft locking pins (1)

Fit the crown wheel (7) .

Always renew : The bolts .

Pre-tighten the bolts to 2 daN.m in a cross formation .

Diagonally tighten the bolts to 6 daN.m .
