REPLACEMENT MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH SELECTOR SHAFT SEAL

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

[1] Selection shaft seal extractor (-).0336-M :

[2] Selector shaft seal fitting drift (-).0336-N .

2 - PRELIMINARY OPERATION

REMOVE THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH .

IMPERATIVE : the adjusting plate (1) on the automatic gearbox must never be removed, as if it is the correlation between the automatic gearbox selector position and the electrical reading cannot be guaranteed .

(2) Multi-function switch selector shaft seal .

3 - REMOVAL

Position the tool [1] on the selection shaft .

Using the rod fastening nut (3), tighten a little to engage the tool in the seal (2) .

Remove the nut (3) .

Tighten the bolt [1a] to push the tool well into the seal (2 threads engaged) .

Tighten the nut [1b] to extract the seal .

4 - REFITTING

NOTE : the switch is positioned by inserting the centralising pin in the adjusting plate .

Precautions to be taken :

Fit :

Always renew : The Nyloc nut .

WARNING : support the selector rod while tightening (risk of the slide valve in the hydraulic block being broken and not being in position N in the event of rotation) .

Securing nut torque = 2.1 da.Nm .

Clip the electrical harness .

Refasten the connector .

Proceed in the reverse order to removal .

Check that the lever position corresponds to the fascia display .

5 - REFITTING

Fit the new seal on to the tool [2] .

Position the tool [2] on the selection shaft .

Using the nut (3), which secures the rod, tighten until fully home .

Remove the tool [2] .

6 - COMPLEMENTARY OPERATION(S)

FIT THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH .
