DRAINING/REFILLING/CHECK OF LEVEL OIL
1 - FOREWORD
The (4HP20) autoadaptive automatic gearbox is lubricated for life .
2 - SPECIAL TOOLS
[1]Filling assembly (-).0341 .
[1a] Filling cylinder (-).0341-A .
[1b] Adaptor without gauge (-).0341-B .
[2] DIAG 2000 .
[3] Pliers (-).0170-Y .
3 - DRAINING
Prior conditions :
Draining is partial because the torque converter cannot be drained completely .
On draining, approximately 3 litre(s) are removed .
Drain plug (1) .
Tighten the cap (1) to 4,5 da.Nm .
4 - REFILLING
IMPERATIVE : use only ESSO LT71141 fluid .
Place the vehicle on a lift .
Move aside: The air cleaner assembly .
IMPERATIVE : leave the air temperature sensor connected .
Remove: The breather assembly (2), Using the tool [3] .
Raise the vehicle .
Remove the oil level plug (3) .
Using the tool [1], pour new oil through the breather hole, until it runs out of the oil level hole .
Start the engine, Idling speed, (Press the brake pedal), Take the gear lever though all the gear change positions, return to P .
Add oil until it runs out of the oil level hole .
Close the oil level hole .
Stop the engine .
IMPERATIVE : check the oil level (refer to section on check) .
5 - CHECK
IMPERATIVE : use only ESSO LT 71141 fluid .
5 - 1 - PRIOR CONDITIONS
Check absence of faults using the diagnostic equipment [2] .
Place the vehicle on a lift, Vehicle level .
Gear lever in position P, Without handbrake .
Major power consuming equipment disconnected .
Connect the diagnostic equipment .
Select the parameter measurement function .
Ensure, before starting this operation, that the oil temperature is below 55 degrees C, if it is not, allow the oil to cool .
Press the brake pedal .
Start the engine (Idling speed), Take the gear lever though all the gear change positions, return to P .
Engine running: At a temperature of 55 ± 1 degrees C, open the oil level plug (3) .
Wait for the temperature to reach 60 ± 1 degrees CC .
1st possibility :
2nd possibility :
Refit the metal part of the breather (2) using a 18 mm diameter punch and a hammer .
Clip the plastic portion of the breather (2) .
