ASSEMBLY DIFFERENTIAL

PRESS ON THE BEARING INNER RACES (1) USING TOOL [3] .

Fit :

• the friction washer (2) (lubrication channel : the sun wheel side)
• the sun wheel (3)
• the planet cage (4) - (5)
• the cups (6) - (7)
• the shaft (8)
• the sun wheel (9)
• the friction washer (10)

Refit the flange (11) .

Fit the crown wheel (12) .

Fit the bolts (13) Tightening torque: 2 da.Nm .

Clip the speedometer drive gear (14) .

1 - CHECKING THE SUN WHEEL END FLOAT

Fit :

• THE TOOL [19] ON THE SUN WHEEL IN LINE WITH THE TEETH (side opposite to the speedometer gear)
• dial gauge support (in kit 4123 T)
• THE PIN [20]
• THE DIAL GAUGE [24]
• zero the dial gauge
• with the aid of two screwdrivers, measure the sun wheel end float
• take 4 measurements at 90 °

WARNING : the minimum clearance must not be less than 0,10 mm .

Fit :

• THE TOOL [19] ON THE SUN WHEEL IN LINE WITH THE TEETH
• dial gauge support (in kit)
• THE PIN [20]
• THE DIAL GAUGE [24]
• zero the dial gauge
• with the aid of two screwdrivers, measure the sun wheel end float
• take 4 measurements at 90 °
• the maximum end float must not be more than 0,10 mm

WARNING : if one of the measurements is above this value, replace the appropriate friction washer .

NOTE : the friction washers are available in 8 thicknesses (1,94 - 1,87 - 1,80 - 1,73 - 1,66 - 1,59 - 1,52 - 1,45 mm) .

TOOL FOR ADJUSTING THE SUN WHEEL END FLOAT [19] .

WARNING : AFTER FINAL ASSEMBLY, CHECK THE DRIVE TORQUE OF THE DIFFERENTIAL, USING TOOL [21], the torque must not be more than 1 m.daN lbf. ft.); if it is higher, increase the end float of the sun wheel on the side with the lower end float .
