5th gear cover .

Oil inlet filler neck .

Seal .

2 - IDENTIFICATION

2 - 1 - EARLIER ASSEMBLY

5th gear casing with flange to hold the seal .

Sealing between the gearbox casing and the 5th gear casing is provided by a rubber seal .

2 - 2 - LATER ASSEMBLY

5th gear casing without flange .

Sealing between the gearbox casing and the 5th gear casing is provided by a silicone compound .

3 - SERVICE ACTION (PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN)

To replace the rubber seal with a silicone compound seal, :

cut out the oil inlet filler neck or the seal tab
position the seal around the filler neck
evenly coat the gearbox casing joint face with a thin film of silicon sealing paste (white autoseal type R60)

Refit the new casing, which can be identified by the flat flange .

4 - INTERCHANGEABILITY

Interchanging is possible, Follow the safety precautions to be taken .

When stocks are exhausted, Parts Division will only supply new specification parts .
