REMOVAL - REFITTING FRONT SUSPENSION STRUT

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

[1] pivot spreading tool (-).0903 AE .

2 - REMOVAL

Lift and support the vehicle with front wheels suspended .

Slacken the bolts (1) several turns .

Remove :

• the wheel
• the pivot clamp nut (2) and its bolt (3)
• the nut (4)

Tie the pivot to the sub-frame with iron wire to prevent the drive shaft disconnecting .

Position the tool [1] in the slot in the pivot .

Turn a quarter turn to open the pivot .

NOTE : the tool automatically locks in the open position .

Release the pivot suspension element .

Remove :

• the bolts (1)
• the suspension element

NOTE : in case of difficulty use the FACOM U77 or MG INTERNATIONAL type tool with the M2 cups .

3 - REFITTING

Proceed in the reverse order to removal .

Replace the Nyloc nuts with new nuts and replace the pivot clamp bolt as well .

IMPERATIVE : position the damper correctly in relation to the pivot .

Position :

• the boss (A) in the groove (B)
• the boss (C) in its locked position on the pivot

Return the vehicle to its wheels .

Tighten the bolts (1) to 4 daN.m .

Tighten :

• the nut (2) to 5.5 da.Nm
• the nut (4) to 6.5 da.Nm
• the wheel bolts to 9 daN.m.
