REMOVAL - REFITTING REAR DAMPER

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

[1] Rear suspension units compression tool (-).0536 D .

2 - REMOVAL

Fit the compression tool [1] taking care to rotate the end of the rod (A) a 1/4 turn after it is engaged in the crossmember .

Remove the shock absorber upper securing nut (1) .

Remove :

• the shock absorber lower fastener (2)
• the damper

3 - REFITTING

Clean the bolt threads .

Replace the nuts .

Lubricate the nuts with MOLYKOTE G RAPIDE PLUS grease .

Position the shock absorber .

Support the shock absorber by fitting the lower securing bolt (2) without tightening it fully .

Fit the flexible mountings the correct way up .

Secure the upper section of the shock absorber : Tighten the nut (1) to 3.5 da.Nm .

Before tightening the shock absorber lower fastener, adjust tool [1] to the dimension X = 225 mm .

Tighten the fastener (2) to 7.5 daN.m. .

Remove the tool [1] .
