MODIFICATION STEERING RACK DAMPER

From build code 835989 : The damper function of steering assemblies with integral ram has changed .

A : Old damper function, including :

• the bolt (1) (metal)
• the spring (2)
• the O-ring (3)
• the damper (4) with its o-ring (5)
• the ring (6)

B : New damper function including :

• the bolt (7) (plastic)
• the washer (8)
• the rubber spring (9)
• the rack damper (10) with its O-ring (11)

1 - INTERCHANGEABILITY

The new damper function can be fitted to old steering assemblies with integral ram .

When stocks are exhausted, Parts Division will supply only the new assembly .

The new damper cannot be fitted to the first variable power steering assemblies from the supplier ZF .

These steering assemblies can be identified by the presence of a plate riveted at (a) .

Parts division still supplies the old damper kit for steering assemblies ZF .
