REMOVAL - REFITTING SUB-FRAME

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

[1] ball joint extractor (-).0903 AF .

2 - REMOVAL

Lift and support the vehicle with front wheels suspended .

Remove the wheels .

Remove :

• the nut (1)
• the nut (2)
• the nut (3)

Extract the ball joints with tool [1] .

Disconnect :

• the high pressure pipe (4)
• the low pressure pipe (5)

Drain the hydraulic circuit .

WARNING : to prevent the power steering circuit becoming contaminated, close the two distributor valve openings and the two steering pipes using plastic blanks .

Unclip the power steering pipes according to specification .

Remove the bolt (6) .

Release the steering universal joint by moving aside the safety clip .

Release the gear lever (7) (According to specification) .

Remove the torque reaction link bolt .

On both sides :

• remove the fastener (8)
• remove the fastener (9)

Remove the engine sub frame .

3 - REFITTING

Proceed in the reverse order to removal .

WARNING : the rear sub-frame mountings (10) and (11) are positioned in relation to the body by means of pins at (A) and (B) .

Tightening torques :

• bolt (8) - (9) : 12 da.Nm
• nut (1) : 6.5 da.Nm
• nut (2) : 3.5 da.Nm
• nut (3) : 4.5 da.Nm
• fastener securing the torque reaction link to the flexible mounting: 5 da.Nm.
• torque reaction rod fastening to engine sub frame 8.5 da.Nm
