DISCARDING CENTRALISED SYSTEM FOR AIRBAG(S) AND SEATBELTS

IMPERATIVE : the steering wheel module and the seat belt explosive charges must be neutralised .

1 - RECOMMENDED TOOLS

[1] Harness for firing pyrotechnic charges (-).1227 .

[2] Centralised connection unit (-).1227-B .

2 - PROCEDURE FOR NEUTRALISING MODULES

IMPERATIVE : the vehicle must be outside .

Disconnect the battery .

Open all the vehicle doors and windows .

IMPERATIVE : the steering wheel module must be correctly fixed ; there must be no loose parts around the module .

WARNING : the release of a steering wheel module which is not fixed in place or is badly fitted can cause injury .

IMPERATIVE : ensure that no-one is near the vehicle when the module is triggered .

APPLY THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE .

Disconnect the connector (1) from the ECU (2) .

Connect the equipment [2] to the connector(s) (1) (18-way orange) .

3 - SEAT BELT CHARGE NEUTRALISATION PROCEDURE

4 - FIRING PROCEDURE

Connect the connector (A) of the special harness [1] to the connector of the equipment [2] .

Close all the doors on the vehicle .

Unwind the wiring [1] to its full length to provide a safe distance .

Connect the electrical supply (B) of the wiring [1] to a 12 V battery .

Press the switch (C) to fire the explosive charges .

Disconnect the wiring [1] from the connectors and the battery .

WARNING : check that all of the charges in the vehicle have been detonated before scrapping it .

In the case of different explosive components not having been triggered, connect the components directly to the connector (D) .

Re-secure the different explosive components before firing .
