REMOVAL - REFITTING FRONT STRUT

1 - REMOVAL

Place the vehicle on a lift .

Slacken the wheel bolts .

Lift and support the vehicle with front wheels suspended .

Remove the wheel .

Remove :

• the fixing (1) securing the anti-roll bar tierod to the strut
• the (2) nuts fixing the strut to the pivot
• the steering ball joint nut (3)

IMPERATIVE : place a protector on the drive shaft gaiter .

NOTE : in case of difficulty use the FACOM U77 or MG INTERNATIONAL type tool with the M2 cups .

REMOVE THE WINDSCREEN WIPERS .

Remove the windscreen aperture protector (4) .

Remove :

• the strut upper fixing nut (5) ; ( prevent the rotation of the shock absorber rod using the end piece TORX 45)
• the strut

2 - REFITTING

Proceed in the reverse order to removal .

Fit new Nyloc nuts .

Tightening torques :

• strut upper fixing ; ( prevent the rotation of the shock absorber rod using the end piece TORX 45) ; 6.9 da.Nm
• pivot fastener to strut ; 9 da.Nm
• steering ball joint nut ; 5 da.Nm
• nut fixing the tierod to the strut ; 3.6 da.Nm
• wheel bolts ; 9 da.Nm
