SETTING THE REFERENCE HEIGHT - ADJUSTMENT SUSPENSION
1 - SPECIAL TOOLS
Suspension height setting equipment (-).0916 :
[5] Rear suspension units spring compressor (-).0536-D .
[6] Set of positioning calipers (-).0536-E-F-G .
2 - PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN
Check the positioning of the rear crossmember in relation to the body using the tool [6] before setting the vehicle to the reference height .
Front and rear suspension geometry checks and front suspension geometry adjustment must be performed with the suspension accurately compressed to the reference height, in a suspension checking bay .
Check :
Correct any out-of-true of the wheels .
3 - SETTING THE REFERENCE HEIGHT
3 - 1 - AT THE FRONT
Engage the straps [4] fitted with their shackles [2] on the sub frame .
Fit the suspension compressor [1] .
Select the most suitable notches (A) to pull on the straps as nearly vertically as possible .
Compress the suspension to obtain a body height H1 (reference height) both sides, measured between the flange (B) and the ground .
WARNING : take the height of the turntables into account when measuring the reference height H1 .
3 - 2 - AT THE REAR
Position the rear suspension units spring compressors [5] .
Compress the suspension to obtain the body height H2 (reference height) at each side, measured between the jack bracket (C) and the ground .
WARNING : take the height of the turntables into account when measuring the reference height H2 .
Check that the height H1 measured at the front has not changed .
3 - 3 - VALUES - CHECK
4 - ADJUSTING THE TRACKING
4 - 1 - AT THE FRONT
IF THE VALUE IS INCORRECT, ADJUST THE TRACK RODS (1) (ONE TURN OF THE ROD = 2 MM APPROXIMATELY) .
Tighten the nut (2) to 6 da.Nm .
4 - 2 - AT THE REAR
NOTE : the rear axle camber cannot be adjusted .
Slacken and operate on the cam ring (3) to obtain the value wheel by wheel which corresponds to the body height H2 .
